چکیده
The last two decades have witnessed increasing use of X-ray imaging and, hence, the exposure humans to potentially harmful ionizing radiation. Computed tomography accounts for largest portion medically-related exposure. Accurate knowledge radiation dose from Cone-Beam CT (CBCT) is great importance estimate risks and justification exposures. This work aimed review published evidence on CBCT estimation by focusing studies that employ Geant4-based toolkits dosage. A systematic based a scientometrics approach was conducted retrospectively, January 2021, comprehensive overview trend, thematic focus, scientific production in this topic. search using WOS, PubMed, Scopus databases, according Preferred Reporting Items Systematic Reviews Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) statement. In total, 93 unique papers were found, which only 34 met inclusion criteria. We opine findings study provides basis develop accurate simulations equipment optimizing trade-off between clinical benefit risk.

متن کاملComputed tomography dose index and dose length product for cone‐beam CT: Monte Carlo simulations of a commercial system
Dosimetry in kilovoltage cone beam computed tomography (CBCT) is a challenge due to the limitation of physical measurements. To address this, we used a Monte Carlo (MC) method to estimate the CT dose index (CTDI) and the dose length product (DLP) for a commercial CBCT system. As Dixon and Boone showed that CTDI concept can be applicable to both CBCT and conventional CT, we evaluated weighted CT...
متن کاملCone beam CT for dental and maxillofacial imaging: dose matters.
The widespread use of cone-beam CT (CBCT) in dentistry has led to increasing concern regarding justification and optimisation of CBCT exposures. When used as a substitute to multidetector CT (MDCT), CBCT can lead to significant dose reduction; however, low-dose protocols of current-generation MDCTs show that there is an overlap between CBCT and MDCT doses. More importantly, although the 3D info...
متن کاملErratum to: Conversion coefficients for the estimation of effective dose in cone-beam CT
PURPOSE To determine the conversion coefficients (CCs) from the dose-area product (DAP) value to effective dose in cone-beam CT. MATERIALS AND METHODS A CBCT scanner with four fields of view (FOV) was used. Using two exposure settings of the adult standard and low dose exposure, DAP values were measured with a DAP meter in C mode (200mm×179 mm), P mode (154 mm×154 mm), I mode (102 mm×102 mm),...
